About us:

Snap Finance UK is a financial services company that provides consumer loans to customers who may have difficulty obtaining credit through traditional lending channels. The company was established in the UK in 2017 and is based in Milton Keynes.

Role Purpose:

As a Strategic Analyst, you will support monitoring and optimising of the Snap Credit Decisions in the UK which already utilise established market-leading data science capabilities. You'll create and enhance data led processes, providing valuable insight across the entire UK business.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities: 

  • Create and monitor KPI’s across the customer lifecycle with a focus on credit and profitability performance including but not limited to; through-the-door application quality, first payment defaults, score distributions, merchant quality, pricing, representative APRs, and collections rates. 
  • Deliver reports proactively and clearly deliver insights and recommendations to enhance the current processes and tools in place to drive revenue, efficiencies, cost savings and a better customer outcome where possible. 
  • Solve real business problems for Snap. Ask questions about the data and our processes and keep digging until you understand the trends and what we can do to positively influence them. 
  • Support credit change initiatives as required, for example, embedding additional data sources like a second bureau, current account API, or implementing a new challenger credit model methodology. 
  • Build strong relationships across the UK business and US Data Science team. 

This is a Hybrid role; you will need to be able to travel to Milton Keynes at least 2-3x a week.

Qualifications/Experience: 

Essential: 

  • Numerate degree (or equivalent). 
  • Coding experience, ideally SQL, Python or R. 

Desirable: 

  • Analytics experience: driving insight and recommendations to deliver change in business. 
  • Experience working in the financial services, e-commerce, or technology sector. 

Skills: 

Essential: 

  • Exceptional communication skills; both verbal and written. 
  • IT Literate.
  • Successful track record of building strong relationships with customers and colleagues. 
  • Strong attention to detail. 
  • Organisation and Time Management Skills. 
  • Always work to your best ability and leverage others around you to continually develop your skills and ability. 
  • Work well as an individual as well as within a team.

Desirable: 

  • Knowledge of Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) regulations e.g., CONC, DISP and Consumer Duty. 
  • Strong knowledge of UK GDPR regulations.
