Your new role

Our two-year Graduate Development Programme starts you on a journey to develop your career in a challenging, dynamic, and supportive work environment, providing a unique opportunity to be involved in a range of varied and exciting projects to help Transport Infrastructure win work!

The Transport Infrastructure Work Winning Team was set up to drive bidding best practice and professionalism across the business, we interface across to complete lifecycle of a project, from business development and bidding through to mobilisation and delivery.

The purpose of this is to develop and understanding of the business and the bidding profession, which would then lead on to the identification of a chosen career path within the Work Winning Job Family.

The key responsibilities include: 

  • The Administration of the Pipeline and Approvals system.
  • The Bidding programme and resourcing schedule
  • Consolidate overall bid budget forecasts.
  • Manage and continually improve the work Winning Management System process (MS) and procedures.
  • Provide guidance and monitor applications of Work Winning MS, on bids, continually improve the process and ensure learning and feedback from bids is captured, shred and applied.
  • Manage and develop the Shared Work Environment (e.g. SharePoint) including bid sites and links with the Business Unit and wide Amey SharePoint
  • Own, develop and produce all bid related business reports, include measurements and data collection for agreed bidding KPI’s, Bid Win Raye and Bid Quality Scores.
  • Support and advise business-led bids (minor bids or “Children of frameworks) and ensure that bid governance and bid process is followed.
  • Manage and carry out process/procedure review and oversee the consolidation and implementation of feedback.
  • Co-ordinate with business development to support the identification and tracking of new opportunities.
  • Co-ordinate and/or provide input for bid related workshops as required.
  • Work on bids under the guidance of a Bid Director, principal Bid Manager or Bid Manager, supporting all activities required through to completion, in accordance with mandated bid processes.
  • Set up and manage the bid platform/sit/folders to be consistent, well laid out and easy for users to navigate.
  • Be fully familiar with the client bid portal to include timely downloading of client documents, tender amendments and clarifications and uploading of submissions and clarification questions/responses.
  • Implement and maintain document management and version control of bid document.
  • Setup and manage the process so submit bid clarifications and the client clarification process, post bid and are managed effectively.
  • Manage bid portals daily, identifying and downloading new opportunities for distribution to relevant people in the business, keeping track of deadlines and managing initial responses.
  • Monitor the overall production quality of the bid as it progresses to assure Amey submits a professional high-quality tender.
  • Ensure that inputs from bid team members are well organised and managed in a structured way so tat all team members understands the status and progress of all activities.
  • Keep bidding tools such as the pipeline database up-to-date and contribute to bid reports as required.
  • Analyse client requirements including compliance and scoring.
  • Participate in regular monthly safety meeting an always adhere to the health & safety policy.
  • Attend formal graduate training sessions when necessary.
  • Work towards relevant professional qualifications within chosen discipline where appropriate
