Our Spring Insight is a week-long event taking place in our London and Edinburgh offices in April 2025 for students of all academic backgrounds who will graduate with an undergraduate or master’s degree in 2027.
Spring Insight is an immersive experience into one of our business areas where you’ll participate in work shadowing, a group project, networking and social events. By the end of the week, you’ll be well on your way to being a true student of the markets. We think it’s important to have an open mind about where you begin your career so you’ll be able to apply to experience up to two functions.

Finance
Our global, world-class Finance organisation works to deliver truth, transparency and trusted, experienced advice to BlackRock and its partners. The Finance department is a key enabler of a business’ growth and serves a fundamental role in making business decisions and improving the organisation’s efficiency. As an internal function at BlackRock, we provide thought leadership across the firm.
Teams you may be considered for:
Analysts will participate in two 12-month rotations across Finance teams. They’ll receive access to curated programming designed to enable career growth and support in pursuing further long-term development through professional qualifications like the CPA and ACCA.
Controllers
Directly responsible for all corporate accounting activities, this team ensures that we operate to the highest fiduciary standards and risk management principles.
Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)
Aims to be the Chief Financial Officers (CFO) for BlackRock’s businesses & functions, serving as a thought leader and partner across the firm to manage risk, enhance decision-making, support the achievement of the firm’s objectives and optimise the firm’s resource allocation.
Finance Controls
Drives the firm’s compliance with corporate-wide financial statement audit and control requirements.
Sourcing & Vendor Management
Engages and manages vendors to minimise risk and realise the full value of the investment.
Finance Platform Strategies
Leads process and technology initiatives to improve finance operations.
What will you do as an Analyst?
Participate in recurring check-ins with designated Program Managers and consistent touchpoints with the cohort of Program Analysts
Gain insight into all parts of Corporate Finance by working closely across multiple areas and opportunities to build well-rounded skills
Develop interpersonal skills to improve relatability and achieve business goals, acting as a trusted business partner to various internal clients
Gain a strong understanding of the internal control and risk management framework
Develop skills to frame, analyse, structure and communicate answers to complex business questions and to collect, optimise, summarise and govern data for business insights
Take advantage of opportunities to leverage GenAI capabilities to design impactful operational improvements and improve efficiency
What capabilities are we looking for?

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an ability to synthesise information (including large datasets) and summarise key issues using financial systems, models & data visualisation tools
